I have experience teaching IEB, CAPS and Cambridge curricula, I spent years in private eduction but felt I could make more of a difference to students in small groups, I am passionate about making maths fun and achievable for my students.

My teaching philosophy focuses on two key principles: simplicity and relevance. I am passionate about making Accounting accessible and interesting for my students. The reason I love this subject is because it relates directly to the real world. I strive to demonstrate how Accounting comes to life in everyday situations, fostering a deeper understanding and engagement.

I always ensure that my lessons involve multiple learning mobilities within a learner-centered environment. Central to my pedagogy is a focus on the needs of students. I embrace Vygotsky's zone of Proximal Development as a key aim and tool to ensure all learners are taught content that is achievable within all cognitive levels.

I enjoy working with learners from all spheres of life, backgrounds, abilities and personalities.

I'm a passionate Mathematics educator with experience teaching high school mathematics and tutoring university-level statistics. I enjoy making complex concepts simple and helping students build confidence through clear explanations, patience, and encouragement. My goal is to create a supportive learning environment where every student can develop strong problem-solving skills and a genuine appreciation for mathematics.

PHD

I am Christie, a dedicated PhD student in Veterinary Science with an MSc in Biochemistry and a strong passion for education. I am committed to helping learners achieve their goals. With experience teaching GCSE and IGCSE in subjects such as Biology, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, as well as the CAPS and IEB curricula, I have a diverse skill set to support students at various academic levels.

Driven by the belief that every learner deserves the opportunity to succeed, I strive to create an engaging and supportive learning environment where students can discover their strengths, overcome challenges, and truly enjoy their educational journey.

When I'm not tutoring, I enjoy exploring new ideas and continuing to expand my knowledge in the field of science.

Bachelor of Education

I hold a BSc in Human Life Science, Biology with Psychology from Stellenbosch University. I completed my PGCE (cum laude)  at the University of Cape Town. 

As a practising teacher, I bring experience and pedagogical expertise from the classroom to one-on-one tutoring, helping students build confidence and master their subjects at their own pace. I believe in the potential of every student, and my goal is to see them reach their potential.

Whether I am helping learners prepare for examinations, strengthen foundational concepts, or master challenging topics, I strive to make learning engaging, practical, and enjoyable. As both a classroom teacher and tutor, I am committed to fostering critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a genuine love for learning. My goal is not only to improve academic performance but also to equip learners with the confidence and skills they need to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
